Bit of a round-up

Arrghh, feel like I’ve not gotten into my blogging stride of late, so here’s a bit of a round-up of what I’ve been up to. Should anyone care, that is.

  • Had my hair chopped on Friday and it looks great, even if I do say so myself. No more straw locks! I was very brave and had a good three inches off and the hairdresser was so lovely and so competent I didn’t mind when I left the salon with dye all over my forehead.
  • Dinner party with the girls on Saturday night was wicked. Managed not to poison anyone with my three course meal and made a good dent in my wine supply – we sank eight bottles.
  • Floor cushions. What can I say? All I wanted was two large cushions to place under my butt when lounging around on the living room floor. But apparently all shops have banned large cushions and only sell ickle ones. After wondering around no less tha 10 shops I was forced to buy huge pillows from John Lewis and obscenely expensive pillow cases. Competitively priced my arse!
  • Managed to misplace my oversized handbag in Asda while testing camping chairs. Losing keys and purses etc is something I NEVER do and it sparked major panic. Thank God, it had been handed in with money, car keys, credit cards, and my life in general, still inside. Phew!
  • Bought a bike from a very uncharismatic chappy from Halfords who seemed a bit reluctant to speak. Picked it up after work tonight (in the pouring down rain) and after much manouvreing to get it in the boot of my car, I rode around the underground car park beneath my flat so as not to get wet. Thankfully no one saw me. Can’t wait to start cycling to work, but will wait for the weather to improve.
  • Spent a day back in the shire, but this time not visiting friends or relatives. Yesterday’s antics were work related and involved videoing a load of student dudes as they conducted scientific experiments in the Shropshire countryside. My two companions did little to entertain me as I drove to and from the Shropshire hills – they slept most of the way. Men!
